Ministry in the front office

Because I sit at the front desk, I see a lot of things first hand. This summer, I was so blessed to see an outpouring of compassion around the life of a lady who walked into my office one day. She opened my door that morning on the verge of tears. She asked me hesitatingly if there was any way we could help her get an MRI. As soon as I told her, “Yes! We can absolutely help you,”  tears welled up in her eyes and her story spilled out.

Her suffering had been horrible. She had been having headaches and dizziness to the point of not being able to walk properly. She had a job, but since her husband was disabled, she immediately came home after work and began her second job of caring for him. Also, she had two grandchildren living with her that she looked after. Since her family depended solely on her for their care, she hadn’t told anyone about her condition for fear of worrying them. What a secret to be holding inside. I just sat and listened to this strong woman who had been trying to carry her world on her shoulders. She finally had told someone of her pain, and God immediately answered her need in my office that day.

When we had talked about how to schedule her MRI, and she was about to leave, I asked if I could pray with her. I can’t imagine God loving someone more than this precious Mother who was doing everything in her power to protect and provide for her family, and who simply needed some care for herself now. We prayed together and as she left, her eyes had light in them, her shoulders were lighter, and she walked taller. I absolutely love being in at Good Samaritan each day and seeing God daily bless and restore healing and hope into precious people’s lives. There is no better place to be than where God is actively working daily!

Thank you, for all you do to support this ministry. Please give today so that people continue to find an open door and healing hands as they come to Good Samaritan.
